And why for the people that want to say why
Just remember to all the people that read the posts on here but never say a word and there is lots of you voting is ANONYMOUS and no one knows who voted for what so vote away
I wanted to put Independent and Donkey Vote as options as well but we are allowed only 5 choices

If I were to vote upon merit alone I wouldn't vote for any present party or individual.
I truly believe that it's way past high time complusory voting was done away with in Australia.
It's the only country I have ever lved in where it occurs, and I get a distinct feeling that's only because the Aussie polies and parties would quickly discover what the Aussie public truly think about them by not voting at all if it wasn't such a dictatorship ruling here.

Sorry MM, just posted on my way out this morning
here is another, with graphs from the graph man himself
http://www.abc.net.au/unleashed/4605414.html
When politicians tell those earning as much as $250,000 that they're struggling, and when the media goes along for the ride, we end up with a society that undervalues what it really means to do it tough, says Greg Jericho.
Just when you think the economic debate in this country couldn't get any more detached from reality, last week ALP backbench MP Joel Fitzgibbon decided to start talking about what it means to struggle in western Sydney.
After failing as Kevin Rudd's numbers man two weeks ago, he decided that taking the defeat in silence wasn't the way to go, and so in the run up to the budget, he bought into the debate on superannuation tax.
Nah, the graphs won't copy over. you'll have to go to the full article for the whole story

That's OK but as I have said before, Don't vote, don't whinge. If voting was not compulsory half the twits in this country would not vote and the libs would have more of a landslide victory than ever because a lot of people who vote labor are people who only vote because they have to and will get fined if they don't. Bite that one.

that one gets dragged out from time to time, and nobody has any real idea if in fact its true.
i've heard some pundits argue that its only swinging voters who wouldn't bother voting. the last time i read a comment from tone on that subject he argued for compulsory voting..
which to me indicates he and his focus groups don't believe it to be the case at all.

Do the top 1% complain about the level of tax they pay?
Or are they happy with what they take home?

I will to BUT it is a huge mess and cannot be fixed quickly, the longer it is allowed to fester the worse it will become.
