Why are there so many idiotic people around? What evolutionary advantage do they bring out?

And you do realise don't you, that being badly taught in school doesn't make anyone dumb - just poorly educated.

"Oh...maybe social studies, sports, home economics, woodwork, debating, art, languages."
Each of the above woud require thought.
Social Studies: Human interaction, relationships, religion, culture, politics etc...
Sports: strategy, cause and effect, certain aspects of body movement, muscle control, point scoring,etc...
Home economics: budgeting, forward planning, nutrition, hygiene, etc...
Religion: see Social Studies. History, psychology etc...
Woodwork: Planning, measuring, the art of turning, carving, manufacture, forestry etc...
Debating: Issues like environment, politics, society, crime, racism, history, etc
Art: hand-eye co-ordination, recognition, design, perspective.
Languages: See Social Studies. History, culture, cognitive powers, intonation, cadence.
"You know, stuff we had the choice of, back in the day when Australia's education levels were up there wih the leading countries.
Maybe put higher standards of education on the teachers."
I'm sure Sharks and Dolphins have their own kind of animal intelligence, but they do not have the human conciousness of thought. So why try to think like them? They are each predators!
Why try to dumb down our kids to the level of animal intelligence?
Wer'e already seeing results of that in the crimes we see engulfing the western world!
Another thing we shoud be concerned with:
Who's indoctrinating our teachers who in turn are indoctrinating our children?
Universities? They get the brightest and most promising of young people. How are they influencing them?

Intelligence will out. Many successful people of our time have been poorly educated, yet made their mark on society.
See Greta Thunberg.
Of course, good education helps. but not always. Sometimes you just end up with educated idiots.

They are being educated - as adults in - Lectures & Tutorials.
As adults they are firmly capable of their own decisions.

Well of course they are! But in what? Young minds are a blank canvas. You can teach them any which way and that will stay with them. What's the saying?
“Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man.”
Aristotle, I believe.

Yes they are, based on the education they've received.

LOL - they may be ' young ' minds - but they've made it thus far - and at Uni level - decidedly not a ' blank canvas '.
Give me a 7 year old - at any University.
There is a lot more to life than education - some can be very street wise - some very educated - and - some just plain smart.
All make their own decisions.

Of course not. They've gone through the education process. Definitely not a "blank canvas" by the time they've reache Uni.
And it doesn't take much to reach University level, these days.

Huh? You showing your intelligence level there?

Being taught in school doesn't make you intelligent either. You can just be an educated idiot.
