What are you up to this weekend?

I'm playing golf tomorrow, then hoping my sons will do something nice for me on Sunday.  Although I think 2 of them will be more focused on the mothers of their yet to be born babies this year 😀

Its a big weekend coming up and a special day for our daughter tommorow. She is playing her first official div one netball game for one of our state premier legue teams. ( 13 years and under ). Its the culmination of nearly a year of preparation, work and lots of expense trying to make the team. We are off to the city where the game is scheduled to be played on the main stadium court where the national and international teams play. Its very exciting and yes I admit, we are very proud of her.

Sunday I need to take a drive 250 km. to our remote farming property to muster sheep ready to load onto a transport to return them to our hills property where the grass is greener after recent rains. . Sunday night staying with mother for mothers day and returning home Monday in time to pack the weekend ebay sales.

Congrats to your daughter, you must be so proud. We had sports rep kids too and it is quite a burden, but one we all happily undertake 😀

Thanks Lurker, we are as proud of the effort shes put in as much as the final result.. Its a wonderful experience for the kids and great for their personal development. Our daughter has learnt a lot about life's disappointments, ( it hasn't all been smooth sailing ) sticking with it, working hard and persistence can finally pay off. Twelve months ago she was playing in div. 3 ( lowest division ) for our small country town team and in the past year has worked her way to Div one in one of our top city based premier legue teams. Its the sort of thing fairy stories are made of.

Thats awesome chameleon- good on her! this is the sort of thing that is priceless for a kid..you and your family are making memories...

What position does she play?

Shes a defender, usually goal keeper. Shes a few cm's shorter than the other defenders on her team and was originally graded into the reserve team due to height. . The Div. one coach saw her play in several scratch matches and invited her to play in the top team at the last moment. Its been a real roller coaster ride and certainly keeping life interesting.

She must be pretty good!- particularly if she doesnt have the height- defenders can dart around- causing chaos! lol

i'm burned up blood red "sunburn" on my legs, knees really bad, arms and face, with bruses all over my legs from gravel flying up from the big trucks, soaked in brake fluid and sweat, because i spent all day on my dad's motorcycle getting parts to fix my car that are not working, picking ticks off of me and finding out that someone has been getting my perscriptions even using my insurance to pay for them.

i want to scream, every article of clothing that touches me hurts.

I am supposed to be gardening........ but think I might sew instead.....

Phone calls early morning from all the away children and grandchildren, then I am having breakfast made for me by my eldest daughter and grandaughter, then lunch out with my middle daughter and family, followed by dinner out with my sister and her family, (sad a little bit that we have no mum to celebrate Mother's Day with.)

Huge weekend here for us ... 

Since last night, we have been moving furniture around, chopping up curtain rods to the correct size, extending the kitchen pantry with a flat pack, cooking, making a special support for a new kitchen island trolley thingy .. and so it will go on until about midnight.

Tomorrow, we're going to a huge inter-family barbeque where we've been invited to help take care of a platoon of children to make sure they are safe and secure and never out of the sight of an adult.

Everyone is going to take cakes, meat and veggies to share .. it's going to be splendid and about 110 people expected there.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MUMS .....
