What bird is this ?

Observed clinging to a bird feeder , at the extreme of my old digital camera, i thought at first was a Crimson Rosella by the blue cheek but the red is more lighter Eastern Rosella sort of red ( where here there are quite a few in the woodland ) and the yellow band lower front .. maybe a Lorikeet  of some description ?

can anyone identify ?

I agree, it's been very bad for many.

As someone said to me, there are people worse off than I am. How true.

Anyway...............I think we agree...............it's an Adelaide Rosella. Smiley Happy

I agree but is most unusual as the colours are very strong with borders defined  like a Crimson Rosella whereas the Adelaide Rosella plumage colours are very washed out & mottled - also the head is prominently red whereas the Adelaide Rosella is yellow as most of the front

reimaged here for non-commercial , educational and public commentary  purposes only blah blah

Could it be a northern VIc sub-species ? Or a captive cross-bred escapee ?

I will keep viligant and am hoping to sight more then one

Re: What bird is this ?

I think you are a brave and great human being Kopes, always have thought that.

Every post I have ever seen from you (for years) is about encouraging others; offering interesting topics and suggestions that are always friendly and intelligent as well as non judgemental.

In my opinion, Community Spirit is lucky to have you here.

As for 'Richmond Tigers', I'm not into football, however, as I love cats, and tigers are cats, I'll cheer just this once for them (for you) ...  Smiley Embarassed

On the subject of birds, this amazingly talented bird is something to listen to;  I had no idea it could make such realistic copies.

I think the mods are bored.

With the continual inability of members to log in, the boards are pretty quiet.
