I bought Essteele saucepans 47 years ago. They are still going strong. I did replace a few handles but other than that perfect.

For everyday use, the  saucepans I use are " Mayfair and Jackson"  a nice 5 piece stainless steel set , for casseroles and the  the Sunday Bacon, eggs, mushroom and tomato brunch fry-up, it's the Scanpans!

Re: What brand of saucepans would you recommend?

Freddie, don't buy any cooking equipment that has been advertised and recommended by a 'celebrity' chef. One frying pan meant 'to be the best that money can buy' according to Jamie Oliver, and a milk pan advocated by Heston Blumenthall, are now both on the council dump. Totally and utterly useless, and a complete waste of money.
