it also demonstrates the influence of some who clearly don't deserve it ,

I don't understand what the Ops obsession is with the wherabouts of Gillard? He has asked the same question on another thread. The answer is the same as the one you got there -
Parliament is in recess so where do you expect her, or any other front/back bencher to be? Perhaps spending time with the family? Holidaying? Or whatver else politicians do in their spare time? Why would Gillard be any different?
The only politicians that should be out and about at the moment are the contenders for the Prime Ministership and their team.
So perhaps the more pertinent question that should be asked is: "What has happened and where is Tony Abbott?" because the only time he is seen out an about during this critical time is when he is giving the occasional rehearsed speech to roomfuls of party loyalists. Other than those times he is invisible in the true sense.

I bet it was in one of those industrial plants where the decibel levels were so high there was no chance anyone could hear him over the noise. So all he had to do was what he does best - pretend to be interested, nod vaccuously every few seconds and smile for the (murdoch) cameras.
His minders are taking no chances!

He was in Tassie practising how to pronounce the names of the candidates and local places.

I'm worried about Chrissy, I think he might be having swimming lessons in case he's needed to help Tone tow back the boats.

It would appear the 2-party-preferred, and betting odds, are taking their toll with the Myopian flock, (can I write Myopiesses?) No, OK I won't
JMK: "Up, up and away", from my flying experience I know that eventually one has to come: down, down, and down.
LL I agree with your view though, things can change.
Apart from the bleating here.
