MARTIN and Mike Gray have sat on Santa's lap every year for the last 30 years as part of a family Christmas tradition they haven't given up.
As toddlers, teenagers and now fathers, Martin and Mike have continued the tradition together.
The brothers, from Massachusetts in the US, aged 30 and 34 now, said they get stared at, but they love doing it.
I actually like this story. There's a few things I continue to do simply it's just become a tradition not to.
WHat's a tradition that you've continued simply because it's become a novelty or something you decided you have to keep doing it so the tradition doesn't end.

Celebrations on Christmas Eve not Christmas Day.
Started when I married into German/Polish family. Loved the mix
of traditional foods and customs, so 43 years later the grandkids love it.
It also fits in with partners etc celebrating with their Aussie families on
Christmas Day. No travelling around to see both families on the one day.
Couldn't possibly list the food - it's 12 different dishes for the 12 days of
Christmas

Christmas Eve with close family. Whoever is able to come.Could be anything between 15 to 30 people.
My OHs ancestors came from Denmark, DILs family from Holland and my family german - polish.
It's a very cosy family gathering with lots of good food and drink, singing carols and opening one present each.
Our family is very large, so presents for adults are the Kris Kringle kind. One each. The children get more from their parents only.
The most important part is to spend time together as a family, as everyone is so busy all year we hardly see one another at other times.
Christmas Day is for the Aussie families. Makes it easier for those that have to spend time with other parts of their families.

My sister-in-law and her family are from Switzerland and they also have their celebration on Christmas Eve. I'm lucky that my boys also like to stay home with me on Christmas Eve too and we have a special tea/supper after I have usually been cooking all day.
I love Christmas Eve and being busy in preparation in the kitchen.
