What is the best way to freeze and unfreeze chocolate bars with short expiry left?

If you have some chocolate bars you got cheap and they expire today and you want to save them, do you just put them in the freezer?

Chocolate will keep well past the use by date. It is a guide only. No need to freeze it, just eat it.
