On one of those ads for a phone company they offer $120 for unlimited phone and unlimited internet. I see the fine print says something about 24 month minimum.
What would be the cheapest plan a phone company usually offers.
Let's say you are on the $120 plan and you want to downgrade. Is the lowest plan a $50 or a $90 plan?

It would deped on the company but with Optus you cannot downgrade before the contract time is up.

Around here from what I can tell, you have to take whats available in your area. I have applied at 4 apartment complexes, and I just hope the one I get into, assuming I get into any, offers a low priced option. I'll be glad to get into a wired internet and away from going to the library or catching a wireless signal with my laptop. I miss my desktop with XPhome. I'd say just haggle with them, see if you can get their starting rate for an extended period of time, or maybe offer to start out paying alittle more on a fixed rate that never goes up.

I find DODO to have some of the best unlimited plans on the market. Taking into account though that all invoices are directly debited from your nominated account. They offer ADSL max (unlimited) for $59.90 per month and $49.90 unlimited home phone packages per month which includes all local, mobile and std calls. The only calls you will pay for are calls to O/S and calls to 13 numbers.

I have Dodo also, they seem pretty competitive in the market.
You will find most will want a 24 month contract, and one of the other posters mentioned the area you are in, I had the same problem, Optus could not provide to my area, but Dodo could - go figure.

Maybe Optus sold too many slots to DODO lol.
And I just saw an ad for DODO unlimited ADSL2 for $39.90 per month with no lock in contract.
