There had never been a movie that I could not sit through until I decided to watch

Eraserhead. It actually made me feel sick and I had to stop.

"Funny Games" with Tim Roth and Naomie Watts.

Weird, horrifying, compelling. It took me weeks to stop thinking about it.

Funny Games is weird but worth seeing.  The English remake is almost identical to the Austrian film  Naomi Watts and  Tim Roth are  in the remake.

There was about 30 minutes worth of humour in that movie... I didn't like it either

30 mins?? You're being generous

I thought Kenny was great.

It was a nice, no frills quirky bit of cinema.

Any David Lynch movie. The worst Man Bites Dog... It was initially banned in Australia, then cut before it was allowed to be released and when released on video we had to get a copy imported as the released version was cut to pieces.

I agree about Snowtown. I hated that movie as well. I also hated Wolf Creek. What is it with Australian movies and their depiction of true crime? They always seem to be full of blood, guts and gore.

Ghosts... of the Civil Dead.

Aussie movie that starts with a pretentious title and goes downhill from there.  Surprisingly effective performance from Dave Mason of The Reels, though.  Nasty, insidious, menacing prison movie, Nick Cave's score adds to the tense atmosphere.

I was in a situation where I couldn't just get up and walk out, or I would have done so very early in the piece.

I don't think Australian movies are any worse in the gore department but what sets them apart from the American is that they are believable.

Quentin Tarantino said Wolf Creek was the scariest film he’s ever seen.  I think that says something.

Has anyone seen The Horseman?  Another Australian crime thriller.
