You'll see it explains it is commonly mistaken for an Akubra.
That's according to your wikkie cut and paste.......lol.
Molly Meldrum himself, says a shop in Brisbane, Queensland,Australia makes his hats for him, as he goes through
around 20 hats a year....... the first hat he was seen wearing was a Stetson from Dallas Texas, because Lindsay Fox (Linfox Trucks)
brought one back for him..........
okay,THAT i believe. the articles i found about him were...interesting.

@imastawka wrote:Last argument from me. The jury will decide this one.
If he wears stetsons, why does he keep autographing
Akubras as his own hat for charity auctions?
And he does it often
Would he really compromise his celebrity integrity like that?
I believe when they say 'stetson', they really mean 'stetson style'

and for the record,i wasn't trying to start an argument. stetson is a proud and unique american brand, and i am proud to own a real one.
i'm sure molly is too,if he still has the one given to him years ago.
i wanted to know what kind of hat it really was,i looked it up,and offered the correct info, that's all.
just like people do on a daily basis on most boards,in a FRIENDLY manner.
i certainly don't have an issue with anyone giving me the right info, but then i don't have a problem with admitting being wrong, either.
my apologies to the folks who knew that i was right,i honestly didn't mean to start an argument.not this time.

So a review is in order.
Here's how the most fascinating back and forth started:
"Joe Dolce on Countdown! I did not recognise Molly Meldrum without his cowboy hat.
Wonder how he's doing, since he fell off his roof?"
I said "Stetson".
His original and trade mark, or signature hat is a cowboy hat, which is a what? A Stetson.
And this is quoted in other places besides wiki.
He has his new Stetson hats made in Australia, I'm sure much more convenient and maybe less expensive? But stetson nevertheless.
Now this may be ignored, but it doesn't change the truthfulness of it all.
A Molly Meldrum Acubra by any other name is a Stetson, LOL.

But they are about to get much more ODD I'm afraid.
what are you afraid of?
Or maybe I should say cloudy, muddied, and less interesting for the regulars
why do you care?
For those who will turn this around and say to me, "well stop posting".
I say in advance, "Nice try" and
i was gonna suggest, you could simply scroll straight past them.
or lead by example....
.....start a topic that's opposite to 'odd'?
