What's with the name calling that's allowed around here?

I got an email from ebay for replying to a post in which someone called others something and I got threatened with banning from the boards..

My question is:  Why do some people call other people names like luvvies and get away with it but if I quote that post I get the email but the original post stays?

Just in general it seems some get away with constant name calling and attacks on others.

Yes, I got a warning for quoting someone who said something offensive.

I quoted it ito tell this person it was offensive and I guess omeone with a chip on their shoulder used it to their advantage even though I did not agree at all with the quote.

Also one of my complaints featured a well known cut and paster who made a post today complaining how 'luvies' are using the 'report button' to silence  their points of view.

Better off sticking with facebook and other forums by the sounds of it.

Doesn't really matter where you go there is pond coating everywhere, just roll with it and don't quote:-)

karliandjacko I would quote your post #2 but it would receive unwanted attention.

But what you said is the exact reason this place is so quiet, most have moved to where they can chat in peace and the pool of nice posters around here is getting diluted almost daily.

Wouldn't it be great if they had the same feature as Facebook does ? Instead of ignoring someone's posts, it would be great if you could block them...that way they can't see you either and can't maliciously report you.
