when my daughter was in grade 6 she was handed a pamphlet at school by some government run program outlining the rights of the child.

it virtually hogtied the parents - even grounding the kids or removing possessions/privileges was against the kid's rights.

So said pamphlet is written into law?

removing their possessions........did they buy them themselves?

I dont care who bought it, my house my rules and if removing something they value impresses upon them that they will be held accountable for their behaviour then thats what I'll do.
