My most favourite fish is Gurnard. It is a New Zealand fish, but available in Oz. Similar to flathead, but sweeter. Love it cooked any which way.

I think you can buy Ling in Coles in the freezer section Newstart.  I think it's from New Zealand.  Thanks for reminding me because it would be a good one for my next fish curry because it's thick and chunky and doesn't fall apart.

LL, My sister insisted i bring a dish to a family gathering. All i had was herring i caught. Cooked them in beer batter. was a fliddly filleting them and kept them warm for when i arrived. it was the first eats to go..went very well. I love herring too.
