What tha?

What's with all the unhelpful response posts when questions are asked?  I ask this here in the name of Community Spirit because I sure ain't seeing much on the other forums.

Too many answers are short, incomplete and just plain rude.  I recognise many of the answers are quite the opposite.  I also appreciate that many of the answers can be found from the site map and too many of the questions are the same ones again and again and feedback and again.  The people who have been contributing to the forums for a very long time have seen more than their fair share of the same questions and I wouldn't be surprised to hear a little sigh each time a question is repeated.

But, when someone is derided for asking a question, even a simple-seeming one, how can that person think this is a nice place? They come here for help, not mockery, belittlement or their situation dismissed.

Please consider your frame of mind before answering - if you are feeling frustrated or peevish, your answer may come across the wrong way.

Community Spirit... where did you go?

Instead of complaining about those posters who do answer questions you could try answering a few yourself and see how long you can do it without getting annoyed at seeing the same question asked 3 times in a few hours....and the answer can usually be found on the Site Map or elsewhere on the ebay site.

Who says you have to respond?

Re: What tha?

Lyndal, if a member comes along and asks a question, how are they to know it has been asked before? Why should they be punished with derision because helpers are sick of helping?

Perhaps just close the buyer and seller boards and replace them with a link to the site map, ... how would that work?

Give it ime. Every one comes under fire at one time or another.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
