about a month ago i bought a small split system air conditioner from 'Kogan' (an online shoping site)
normally not an item i would buy as the size if bought locally would be about $700 for just the unit
but kogan had an end of summer sale unit at $430.
then they had a free delivery sale too on the airconditioner
then they sent me a 'get $20 off' promotion
bringing the price down to $410 delivered.
so i got one.
i have been planning to save up to have it installed in a few months.
i will now spend the $750 on the install

But it works.
Both from the same company?
I needed to get an AC to install mine but he didnt do the electrial work, needed an electrican as well .....Cost a bomb to get it installed but worth every penny.

What is the country of manufacture?
Prob China lol
Exactly. It's much the same as the GFC back in 2008 when Rudd gave everyone $900. Mudh of it was spent on electrical goods and gadgets made overseas. Harvey Norman made a Motza!
Ring any bells?
Not with me

Harvey Norman employs over 10,000 Australians.
Uses Australian techs - installers etc.
Gives work to delivery services.......................
Not all are ding-a-lings.

I didn't get any of that $900.
It went to workers.
Pensioners and the hard up were given nothing.

Sorry - missed this one.
The total price - with the $500 gov discount if you purchased particular models - from memory included - delivery & installation.
The unit & the blokes arrived at the same time.
Perhaps they contract the installation.

- A $900 bonus will be paid to taxpayers with taxable income up to and including $80,000.
- A $600 bonus will be paid to taxpayers with income exceeding $80,000 to $90,000.
- A $250 bonus will be paid to taxpayers with income exceeding $90,000 to and including $100,000.
Ok. Point taken. Still the same principle though. Will pensioners spend the "gift" on medicals (seeing it's the aged and respitory-challenged that are mostly in danger of the virus), or will they spend it on non-essential items?

Pensioners received a $1400 one off payment from Rudd
on 12-03-2020 03:18 PM
I would assume pensioners would spend it on paying bills.
Or is that too sensible?
I'm respiratory challenged, I have emphysema and asthma, so what medicines can I buy to combat this virus that I don't already have?

No Gov discount ..... Total installation cost us around $1400 plus the cost of the unit, almost 3 grand all up
