The New York City Police Department said a man driving a Range Rover with his wife and 2-year-old daughter inside Sunday struck a motorcyclist on Manhattan's West Side Highway, breaking his leg.
The SUV driver pulled over, and the bikers surrounded his vehicle, hitting it and spiking the tires, police said. The driver pulled away, hitting three more bikers in the process, police said.
Should the driver in the SUV be charged?
What do you think of bikers?
What would you have done if you were the driver in the SUV?

The spirit of the laws is to prevent crims from hanging out / colluding together. It might be a little paranoid to think the police would declare groups like EM's quilters as outlawed lmao
i think its a little naive and extremely foolish to blindly hand over that much power so that your rights to meet up with anyone you choose to are no longer there.

It will never have any impact on me, pepe, because I'm not a criminal and I don't hang out with criminals. I do understand criminals have supporters, but I'm not one of them.
it has the potential to impact on every australian citizen, criminal or non criminal.
once passed and the full ramifications are finally realized its going to be too late, there is another right gone.
And it is ridiculous to assume these laws are going to stop bikie gangs or other organised crime, they will simply go further underground and continue business as usual.

Maybe it would be better to refer to the thugs as gang members rather than bikers. Many (probably most) bike riders arent affiliated with any kind of criminal gang but they often get tarred with the same brush, especially if they ride in a group.
Apparently you dont even need to ride/own a bike to join some of the outlaw gangs nowdays anyway.

If they start slashing my tyres and attacking my vehicle I'm not going to hang around to see how bad it gets.
I doubt you would either.

The case of Scott vs Shepherd provides the precedent for how situations like this are handled by law.
Someone was hurt. No matter why, charges should be laid. It is not up to the police to determine who gets exonerated.
