well, community spirit seems inappropriate for this place *& its probably why everybody split*

(so was round table as history suggests that name was created to prevent quarrels)

imo, chinwag was the best name for a board thats not meant for ebay related topics (shoulda retained it)

if ebay was open to suggestions for a name change for this board, what would you change it to?

Lakeland, the report function has been used as a weapon since well before this forum replaced other much more frequented forums. 

At times, if you annoyed one faction or another, they'd literally mass report you.  That's when many switched to forum ID's because who'd put their real account at risk?.    At least the Mods were a bit more present back then.  I agree, having been around for quite some time, the content is getting boring because people are scared they'll be reported. 

We can't even post words that Aussies are notorious for - e.g. Don Chipp - If I want to quote him here I either risk a slap OR I say "Keeping the Barstools Honest".  Of course the original word is more Aussie, but you know.....can't really say it how it is on here.  It's now apparently culturally inappropriate to speak like an Aussie.  JMO

hmmmm......i dont think there can be another/new CW.   it was unique and i dont believe a change of name will have an impact.....I also dont think it was the change of name that made "everybody split" as you put it.

Every forum has a report feature for unsuitable, spam or abusive posters, the only difference is the moderators can actuality read English and go to the effort of doing so in a fair and informed manor before deleting or editing posts and issuing a warning.

Further they will normally deal with the trolls and not the responders or defenders and people that spend all their time baiting will be allowed to be run off the forum

The only reason I see they had to change the name was to prevent ownership issues, the name Chin wag really is a more suitable name for this board IMO
