I fail to see how the meat industry after loosing 170 odd million from Russan markets then "gaining " a 104 million market" maybe" over 13 years is a win

not too sure about any positives yet LL, will have to wait and see how it pans out.
I'm not sure that any cost savings will be passed on to the consumers, they may be eaten up by wholsale/retail

here's a place you can list what you and the country will gain from the trade deal with Japan. so far we are down 1 auto industry and 30,000 jobs (why do you think they let it go ?) any positives listed must contain detail as to how and why there is benefit to ordinary people .. trickle-down is ineligible because its carp.
when you say "us", is that the dignified, people of calibre us or the idle rich and their dodgy mates?

the cattle and dairy farmers can now increase their production as they now have an eligible market to supply in greater quantities. This means more money for them and more employment, not just at the roots on the farms, but throughout the whole supply chain process including monitoring and control and implementation.
Don't think it gets much more to the "ordinary people" than our cattle and dairy farmers, eh?
This also increases their capabilities of competing in and supplying the domestic market. Another boost for employment and income.
