I've seen this ad a few times now. I don't think the ad gets its point across. How is it discrimination against just indigenous is a stretch? Just cause the person feel like they've been discriminated because they're indigenous doesn't make it so. You can look suspecious with your hands tucked into your sleeve regardless of your race. Plus that woman frankly just look white to me. And some women simply prefer not to sit next to man on a bus. The last guy just look mediteranian to me even though the only bit related to the indigenous is the "ab0" joke. 

I get the point they're trying to make on the ad but it just ends up mocking the indigeous for being cry babies. I don't like this ad.

Some people just don't seem to "get" that Indigenous people can be just as judgmental and racist as non Indigenous people. I think that some individuals are just better at playing the "poor me" than others.

I don't know az, maybe your were.

You said you had never been discriminated against.

I did not think discrimination touched me. I know it did.

Otherwise I would have been taken to decent houses when I was alone (as in without male).

Also when I took over the care of my intellectually disabled brother a few dinner invitations ceased. No idea why though.

Your statement however could apply to many of the scenarios on here.

That is true. Just not only one race. Many races are intolerent of other races.

That's the issue though BC....it is not a few and as I have said and been mocked for, I have many friends and family that are beautiful people, workmates etc.....I can tell you that even they will admit that their kind are not helping matters.

Unless people get the blinkers off and look at the situation from all views then and only then that progress can be made.

I see it from the other side also but I am fed up.

*and to answer a post back there, ticking the indigenous or islander box does not offer special treatment. It provides services with information....like the close the gap initiative. Many indigenous won't access services for valid reasons and our country wants to know why and try to improve our services for them

It all seems so easy to me ... judge a person based on how you find them ... accept them for what they are ... treat them like you would like to be treated ... (how many here remember Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby?)

We all bleed red.  We all hurt if insulted on the basis of race or other irrelevant issues.  We all really want the same things out of life ... peace, education, food, housing, health care ...

That's true, too.

Genocide, Stolen Generation, disproportionate incarceration and death rates, lower age of mortality, not being able to vote in your own country, not included in the Constitution, to mention a few, does not exactly make anglo saxons seem endearing. Generation after generation after generation have been treated abysmally so it is no wonder that there has been long lasting damage done.
