When is being a dobber ok?

Now that it is being encouraged by our Government

Have the rules changed or just the repercussions?

Didn't that German war criminal encourage dobbing?

Did you read the link, poddy? It's about the LNP government attempting to stamp out criticism by encouraging employees to report colleagues who criticise the government.

There's a summary for you.

Re: When is being a dobber ok?

Every citizen should be alarmed about these rules. It's not ok for governments in a democracy to stifle / ban opinions negative to a government, nor intimidate their staff.

On the one hand this govt promoted the "right to be bigots" and "free speech", and on the other they adopt litigious, dictatorial attitudes to prevent people from having an opinion.

Not ok.

Re: When is being a dobber ok?

Some are absolute experts at it.

The govt sets the standards and it appears it doesn't take long for the acolytes to adopt them, or amp up what they've always done.

It won't do much for job satisfaction in the public service, due to reduced trust and team cohesion. Ditto for here.

Define "Dobber" or are you relying on your normal ambiguity to  give you an escape route?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Can you please explain what dobber means to poddy (just kidding - I am not in the mood)

Public service jobs will attract some interesting characters in the future...............

In regards to social media, it would have to be well thought out, especially in regards to potential consequences.

Re: When is being a dobber ok?

True, spot. But they're ethical dobbers, doing it for the community.

Other dobbers, who do it for retribution, control or self gain, not so good.
