do your feet get hot too? or just your face?
Feet are so cold today that I reckon hot flashes in my feet sounds like a good thing.

LOL - if it happens again, I'll remember that - but he gets cross if I put my cold feet on him - that's when he makes me put on socks or something LOL
yeah, I know, the reverse cycle is expensive
worth every cent in summer, cos there is only so many clothes you can take off to get cool, but in winter, I really begrudge it, cos you can always add more jumpers and blankets etc - I mean we live in Qld beside the beach - it's not like we are in the mountains or buried in snow!
When the OH used to start work really early in the mornings, He'd set the timer for it to turn on half hour before yhe got up to get ready, just to take the chill out of the air for him - but apart from that - we really don't use it.
(at $180 a fortnight, my electricity bill is high enopugh!)

but I'm curious, why the need for the antiseptic qualities? like just for general use?
I do the whole footcare thing
First I use this cream that starts with S? it gets all the dead skin off that goes hard and gives people cracked heels an stuff - it's by doctors prescription and the chemist mixes it with something else
Then just before bed, use a cream for people with diabetics - moisturizer for the feet LOL - or if I'm out of that, just vaseline
so I already look after my feet, what would salt do?
Our bodies are about one third as salty as seawater, so salt makes the water more like body chemistry.
Soap and water, or plain water, strip the skin of oils and makes it dryer.
I think the salt stops the water from removing the skin oils, but don't quote me on that.
Keeping your feet warm with a heater can cause chillblains if you overdo it but less common now than in historical times.
Salt keeps feet free of tinea and similar fungal infections which thrive when you bundle up your feet to much.
These natural fungal types also absorb moisture during cold times and cause extra drying of the skin, think dry cracked knuckles or elbows or heals. Often most prevalent on thin skin areas and also lips because candida is always in everyones mouth, it's not just cold wind that causes cracked lips.

*blerk*
adding salt to foot spa from now on Annie! Thanks for that.
I am paranoid about getting cracked or dirty heels etc - living here at the beach we wear a lot of open shoes, so it really sticks out iof your feet are dirty, so I really do care for my feet as above - but no one has ever mentioned the salt in the water for those reasons
closest was the epsom salts in the bath, but that's supposed to be about getting toxins out of the body or something from when I eat unclean food (ie processed food)

me too,as well as things that happened on other boards. this is a new place, and a new atmosphere, and i'm happy to be here!
i'm not much for politics anyway, except in my own real life, where it counts, and i can SEE who i'm talking to,because sometimes words on a screen don't show what a person's face does.
i do have certain opinions ,but i try not to discuss them until i have to,if that makes sense.:)

crikey,i was talking to a friend, and she says you can make gel packs to keep in the freezer,1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water.
i'm going to try it,it will be more malleable than the chopped ice,i think.

I would comment here, but it's far, far, far too dangerous! Besides that, I don't know anything about the subject anyway. I DO know that there is a worldwide ladies league out there, which is to be revered and never, ever messed with. The last guy I met who crossed the ladies league is now living at the home for the numb out in the desert some place - he plays with his toes a lot.
