Where do you come from?

Does anyone come from anywhere exotic?

Not really exotic, but I was born in Tokyo and our family is from Denmark. Smiley Happy

My uncle has traced our family back to year 1100 and my grandmother is direct descendant from Von Barner family.

There is a private castle in Denmark that's still in the family. Complete with moat all the way around.

No kidding.

I came from Ma's 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Erm, England. Where I still am, incidentally.  No, not very exotic as someone said - well we haven't got waving Palm trees, white sandy beaches, and clear blue, warm seas -  however, I suppose it's a bit like the Curate's egg - good in parts. 8.15 am here, and a nice sunny morning. If we're lucky, it might last all day.

Let's see.  Mongrel mix really

My first Aussie ancestor came in chains in 1825 from Scotland -

age 17 - 7 years transportation. Landed Sydney

Another lot came from England 1853, arrived Melbourne

One of this lot married a chinese guy who came for the gold rush

in Victoria, arriving also in 1853 coincidentally.

We've been in Victoria since then.

I married an Aussie born Polish/German so it's more mixed

for my daughter and grandkids

Hotchpotch like many Australians with ancestors arriving from the late 1700s to the early 1800s. Some in chains, some not. If you have Rose, Green or Yates ancestors (and others I can't remember) we are probably rellies. 😄

Traced back to King John as well and as he is known as 'the father of England' because so many sprung from him, illegitimately as well as legitimately, we are probably related there too.
