I've been looking on Masters website, they seem to have quite a lot of xmas decorations reasonably priced. My turn to host lunch this year and I want to do my tables up really nice without spending a fortune, ive looked on here but quite a bit of the stuff seems to be coming from the UK. I know there are the xmas caves and other places but all seem to be quite expensive, should have stocked up last year in the boxing day sales!

Try the $2 shops, the Reject Shop before you buy elsewhere, save the retail shops for things you can't get cheaper.

Kmart are pretty cheap with their deco's
they have little snowmen , santas for 2.00 which have a 2 setting lights and you can use to hang on your tree for 2.00 each battery operated, also cheap solar lights too from 5.00
i know its not table decorations but still good value.

There are lots of decorating ideas online which don't cost a fortune, just google Christmas table decorations.
Woolworths have tins of chocolates (quality street I think) on sale for $10 reduced from $25. They add a nice bit of sparkle scattered around or filling the wine glasses and you don't have to store them. I prefer to decorate with food. 🙂
thanks that's a great idea. Somebody told me today to go to the cadbury and pink lady direct to public shops, I'll pay them a visit.
Im going to try IKEA too.

I'm a bit precious about my Christmas decor and like to change colours/schemes each year so I go crazy AFTER Christmas at the sales and buy whatever I've picked for next year. Of course, after doing this for several years now I have more gear than you can poke a stick at, but at least I comfort myself that it didn't cost much! They almost give the stuff away after Christmas Day.
One year I had decorated in pale green, pink, and silver only to have someone (who didn't understand), present me with a floral table arrangement in the traditional red, green and gold. Disaster!!! As soon as they left I had to put it on top of the fridge so that my whole Christmas wasn't ruined.......
What do you mean crazy?
(Christmas) cheers,
Marina.
