I thought i would start a thread where people can post pictures of some of the wild critters which they find in their gardens.
Only wild things, please. And preferably native wild things, so no kitties or puppies or kids (even though i know that these can be pretty wild at times
So, here's my bee. Actually Kennedia found it and it's not really ours.
It's Amegilla cingulata, commonly known as the Blue Banded Bee.
Isn't she cute?

Love that blue banded bee. Have never seen on before.
Here is an unusual bug on a black balsam plant.

thanks for the compliments. ๐
I used a Pentax K-x which is an entry-lever digital SLR camera. I also used a pentax DA 35 mm macro lens, which is probably why the pics are so information-heavy.
Sorry if they take a long time to load.
kennedia saw this bee in our garden about a week ago and asked about it here and I think it was meep who identified it for us (thanks, meep)
I have lain in wait for it for a few days, but it has been a bit too windy for it to come out . . . until today and now i have captured its' spirit inside my magic box. ๐
