Remember when ppl used to have a soft-boiled perched in an egg cup, on a saucer? Maybe a cpl slices of buttered toast on the side?
Tap the egg with your knife and cut the top off it and spoon the soft yolk out. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper?
Who does that these days?
Nobody.

I do.
My daughter does.
So does my husband, and my mother.
I know a lot of people that do whenever I've had guests over who ask for a soft boiled egg for breakfast.

We still have egg and vegemite soldiers every now and then here. When OH is away I sometimes have them for lunch.

when i want a boiled egg or 2
i have to remember how long it must be boiled for to get it perfectly cooked to how i like it - runny to medium
i thinks it's 3 minutes, a couple of eggs taken straight from the fridge dropped into boiled water
