I also remember one and two dollar notes.

And I can clearly remember the introduction of decimal currency, and the jingle - to the tune of Waltzing Matilda, and exchanging all of our 1 bob coins to 1 cent coins - 'cos it just seemed to be so much more money!

Gawd, rabbits.........forgot about Brickies......and Beefies.....and the pretty blue cars being driven by the clods........only a couple of times for our group.

We originated at the Bull & Bush and then El Rancho (Epping Road).........where the final song of Saturday night was always........

I do, however, remember after-hours petrol.

There was a slot in the wall of the servo for the coins,

which automatically connected to the pump (singular)

4 bob (40c) gave us enough petrol to hoon around all week-end

in the old FE Holden

I hate to be the one to tell you this - but you was robbed! OH! I see. I thought you meant you changed your 1 shillings for 1 cents pieces - as you were.

Mmmmmmmmmm...as Joe would say.

I can recall using my spare change for a week, 50c, 20c, 10c and 5's, for filling the tank in my HQ Holden panel van for the next week.

Sadly, I can't do that now!

Multiples of 1c coins, Rabbit - multiples!

Anyway - how was the weather in your half of e-bali? It was really nice in the north! Much better than Melbourne's cold snap - I'm almost considering going back.

Yeah, it was quite nice. I think glee liked it so much, she's still there.

For a City of only 30K, we had quite the selection of burger joints..........to the north, at the end of the strip on Riverside, was the ubiquitous Jack's, home of the pizza burger and monster shakes, cutting over and heading south on Central one would encounter Arctic Circlee, Sully's, then at the south turnaround was Cubby's...........

On the way back north was Bob's, then a quick side trip to Dell's........After that it was clear sailing bacck to Jack's.

She must have excelled in her work to earn such an extended stay!  Don't think I'll ever be that efficient!
