I was taught it was important to read everything, I don't buy magazines but I will read them if I am in the doctors surgery or visiting my mum. How do you get a balanced view if you don't read everything?
Me too Donna. It is nice to keep updated on the latest boozie jobs, and whose got cellulite.
But you can get all that important info on News Corpse online.
It has been suggested that trivia is featured so they can withhold the real news.

would be just as effective as reading the horoscopes. Balanced? , it's all apparently "balanced", I do read the Age, SMH, the fin review (occasionally). When I want actual real news I rely on no mainstream media.

I'm not sure youd get a balanced point of view from reading dodgy sources.
Tonight on twitter I saw someone talking about the brandis declaration that deniers should be given equal air time to provide a balanced view to climate change.
The person tweeting about it suggested if someone who claimed 2+2= 5 was given equal air time to a big group saying 2+2= 4 it wouldn't be balanced at all.
yes brandis is saying publicly that people who believe in climate change and the science (although he does say he kind of does) has ruined any chance of discussing it because we are using "medieval tactics" - seriously, how does he utter such rubbish and keep a straight face, it's a skill. Below is from the Age - he is quite unbelievable and so full of it..........I hope he is next.
George Brandis has compared himself to Voltaire and derided proponents of climate change action as "believers" who do not listen to opposing views and have reduced debate to a mediaeval and ignorant level.

To me it is important to know what others read Karen, it is also very funny
Climate change is a fact, belief in facts is another thing altogether !
It takes all types to make up this world and even though nero etc don't post their own opinions it is extremely entertaining to me to see the lengths that people will go to defend stupidity, corruption and lies! Plus I love the words they use like KNIFED which they copied out of the mainstream papers so I decided to do that taste of your own medicine thingy!

'know thine enemy' but not too well mind. if you know what they are thinking its simpler to shut them up or cut them off. divorcing yourself totally from murdoch n co can lead to being taken unawares i think.
