Who is going to this year's Rosebud RadioFest?

Here is some news about the Rosebud RadioFest.

Many of the electronic items we see on eBay started their buy/sell journey at just such an electronics festival.

Southern Peninsula Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) proudly present their second  Rosebud RadioFest, to be held on Sunday November 24th 2013 in conjunction with and at, Eastbourne Primary School, Allambi Ave. Rosebud, Victoria.

Whether you're a seasoned hobbyist, experienced professional or someone who harbours an interest in radio communications and electronics, The 2013 SPARC Rosebud RadioFest has something to interest you.

Crammed into this years festival are a multitude of exhibitions, forums, sales tables, club promotions, special interest groups, software-based communications demonstrations and displays showcasing the vast range of activities which make up Amateur (Ham) Radio today.

Special guests at this year's fest will be ICOM Australia, showing off their new IC-7100 multiband, touch screen transceiver.

Other guests include the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA), Australian Ladies Amateur Radio Association (ALARA), Wireless Institute Civil Emergency Network (WICEN), Australian Vintage Radio Society (AVRS), and the Peninsula's own TTS Communications, plus many others.

You can hear about Satellite Radio Operations, Software-defined (computer controlled) Radio, Home Brewing (build your own equipment), Ham radio vehicles, portable radio operating, QRP (low power) operating, VHF/UHF comms, and even learn how to communicate using signals bounced off the Moon! (EME)

Experienced Amateur Radio Operators will be on hand all day to answer questions and show how YOU can easily become licenced to operate your own international radio station, participating in the many amazing facets of this space-age hobby.

As well as Amateur Radio exhibits, we proudly present a range of allied subjects.

Rosebud Fire Brigade's firefighters will comprise a star exhibit, providing a fascinating look at modern firefighting communications technologies.
Their Scania Heavy Pumper and state of the art IVECO Light Pumper/Salvage are must-see vehicles, the display being wonderfully rounded off by the appearance of Peninsula Group's Forward Ops Vehicle.

Another feature, an ultra-low power FM radio station, is the work of enthusiastic students and teachers from Eastbourne Primary School. Be amazed at what these keen youngsters can do with just 10 Microwatts!!

Brought to Rosebud by the Australian Vintage Radio Society, a stunning range of beautifully restored radios harking back to golden days when radio was the king of family entertainment.

JUST ANNOUNCED;    The ACMA will present an update on the Australian regulatory scene, with an emphasis on Amateur Radio. This is a very popular feature, and not to be missed.

RadioFest is fully catered at very reasonable prices, has loads of free off-street parking, and is just one hour's drive from Melbourne's CBD down the new Peninsula Link Freeway.
