Who is interested?

I have been contemplating starting a thread for Macro photography.

There are a few posters who I am aware of who would participate. if there are enough takers I'll give it a go

It wont be like pimpies thread, no challange, just a place to show off your achievements and an exchange of tips and ideas.

Here is one as a starter

am*3, in the realms of the very close up details are revealed the you never imagined were there it opens up new vistas of understanding, appreciation, knowledge and art 🙂

Nature is wonderful when you get up close and personal with her 🙂

Rosie with the environment you are in there is an abundance of subject matter that is just itching to be revealed 🙂

Re: Who is interested?

The camera was a Nikon D5100 with the 18-55 standard lens attached. the camera was handheld. the shot was taken at f11 appature in manual mode with a flash attached and activated.

The bee was zapped with a couple of flashes manually just to confuse it and slow it down 🙂

You can see the reflection of the flash on it back. After i got a couple of pics it recoverd from the flaches and went merrily on it way 🙂

The small appature gives good depth of field and the flash gives plenty of light and stops the movement blur

My bee was left alone to enjoy its' life and its' meal and I got this action pic by virtue of patience and a Pentax K-x using a 35 mm macro lens, no flash, though I had it on auto setting.

Re: Who is interested?

This a photograph of a portion of a bug wing from my bug zapper.  It is on the back of my hand.

It was from a $52  camera that  I use for viewing small printed circuit boards, and also small mechanical items (watches). It is adequate for basic macro viewing but lacks a good depth of field having a fixed aperture.

Re: Who is interested?

The  unit is a Digitech Cam Dig microscope,  currently on Amazon  for $28 USD. I  selected it  just because I have some other Digitech equipment.  It uses a  USB cable connection,  has a stand, its own variable illumination,  focus, and video capability.

Certainly not up to Nikon standards, but at that price !!!
