Re: Who is the minister for men?

So he can personally make sure women are kept in their place (which is at home and doing the ironing).

While I think men and women are equal, they are also different and I think itโ€™s inevitable and I donโ€™t think itโ€™s a bad thing at all that we always have, say, more women doing things like physiotherapy and an enormous number of women simply doing housework.โ€ Tony AbbottHerald-Sun 06/08/2010.

I agree entitely. That's exactly what it feels like as a woman - a slap in the face.

I can't believe he could assume the role given the perception he has created.

Does he think this will make him look more supportive of women? Has he done it because he thinks it will boost his own popularity with women?

And given the lack of women in his own cabinet, it seems to me that it would have been a perfect portfolio to give to a couple of women that didn't even get a look in - I am thinking specifically about Sussan Ley.

I just don;t understand...

He's just trying to prove women should know their place and stay in it so he can rebuild the old white boys club he's so fond of.

Re: Who is the minister for men?

i think it's denial.

something that is so bad/irrational that it cannot possibly be true....you blend it out of your mind cos accepting it as reality would maybe damage your mind. so your brain just switches off into "i do not understand" mode.

i am talking about/to martini, not to frakiness sorry misclicked
