Well, again he hasn't told the whole truth about the GST. 

Yes, as it currently stands, the legislation requires an agreement from the states for the GST to be increased.  But that is federal legislation.   A simple change to that legislation, which would NOT require state agreement, could allow the federal government to change the GST as they wished.

And, I do feel sorry for him, he has a cold.  I've had one too recently.  It's **bleep**py feeling like that but still having to "carry on"
