Its time that more adults also have the injections as well.
A lot of the children are catching it from the adults.
Both myself and the OH have had our booster as we now have great grand children.

Everyone should have either a booster injection or kids should just all be vacinated.
It should be law, I just dont understand how some parents dont have their children vacinated or are against vacination, fine if there is a medical reason why they cant, but everyone else should.

Wow that is crazy. I have to confess we were behind in immunisations here but promptly got everyone caught up as soon as we realised. OH and I also had boosters even though we are not 50. If you are working with kids its a good idea to get done, council immunisation clinics will often do them free even if you are not in the age bracket. Whooping cough is around here too so its an extra precaution.
I agree it should be law and there should be reminders in place esp for teenagers and adults who often fall through the cracks.

Hasn't the new rule about ccb etc made a difference or is that not in force yet?
Agree with Grandmoon re adults and boosters.
its not in yet.
Im about due for my boosters. I do work with kids so have all mine done when I need to
The people saying all children should be immunised against it? Young babies cant, thats why its important for the adults to be responsible. Thats my view anyway

I don't agree that whooping cough vaccinations should be made compulsory for all adults.
There are more than enough vaccinations that are recommended for the elderly without adding any compulsory ones, especially if they have no contact with children or babies anyway.

while I dont agree it should be compulsory, (it is a medical proceedure after all) , I do think that adults who mingle with vunerable folk, (the very young and the very old, or those with compromised immune systems) should be sure they are vacinated.
I am one of the rare ones who hold absolutley no immunity to the whooping cough immunisation. I had a double booster when my grandsons was born in 2008 & 2013, but it gave me just *under* the immune levels, and by 6mths, it was gone. When the twins were born this year, I discussed it with their parents, and they said not to bother. It is essentially, for me, a waste of time.
I havent had whooping cough since 2010 though, so i have been rather lucky, esp in my line of work.
Adults can still get very sick from whooping cough. Especially those with compromised respiritory systems (like me)
I have wondered if treatments like Chemotherapy kill of ones immunity levels and/or completely destroy ones ability to maintain an immunity level (as in my case)
I am due the rest of my boosters atm.... all of them.

Because immunisation is being pushed on television, I asked my GP. He said unless you are in contact (or likely to be soon) with any new babies, there is no need to have it.
