Whooping Cough on the rampant again in NSW

Last night on the news ....

An increase in Whooping Cough in NSW.
To date: 2703 cases this year.
An increase of 447% since this time last year!

*sigh ~ shakes head in dismay* .......

Why are babies contracting whopping cough - because it's irresponsible people who don't get the shot. Medical procedure my a s s, it's a necessity. There are too many anti vaxxers out there and it's time to stop living off the shoulders of the vaxxers protection. Get the shot - it might just save a baby's life

No it's because babies are being taken out into the community way too early, combined with child care and adults who don't know they need booster shots.

I agree that there are too many anti-vax folk out there.. but this so -called HERD IMMUNITY is a load of codswallop!

i think you raise a good point here - people keep their puppies home until they are vaccinated yet so many take their babies out here there and everywhere before they can be vaccinated.

When my babies were born they were kept in the nursery in the maternity ward, brought to me  or I went and got them, kept in my room until visiting hours when they were taken back to the nursery. Only mum and dad were allowed to be in there with them..............

Nurses did the touch one baby, wash hands and change gown thing

Now, within hours of birth bub is home being visited by aunty Ethel and Uncle Bob and all the rest of the rellies and neighbours.

The day after, bub is out shopping.
