Why do Australians believe silly things?

Well, I believe in it all..... ghosts, aliens, gods, angels, devils, poltigeists, life on other planets, time travel, big-foot, ESP..... oh the list goes on.

Dont under-estimate the abilities of our ancient ancestors. in many ways, i reckon they were more *switched on* than most folk today!

I'm not a believer in the writings of the bible, but i do believe in Gods or 'A God', but I did watch a very good doco once a few years ago , that sugested that the *ark* was a carrier or storage device (like a USB) and that the *animals 2 x 2*   was in fact male and female dna of all species. (brought here by aliens)

I found it extremely interesting.

While there is no proof of aliens ships landing, or visiting, or even being.... and no hard core proof of ghosts, spirits, evil and angels, there are countless and countless and COUNTLESS sightings, texts, writings of such encounters.
Surely, it cant all be pure imagination.

P/S:  my house if full of ghosts.  I see them and *smell* them all the time. Man Tongue
I'm very intituative.

I dont " believe" in any particular philisophical or religous point of view and dont worry too much about it all. I have just seen enough to know there is a whole " other ' world out there that doesnt fit nicely into the physical world that humans inhabit. I wouldnt completely disregard any of the phenomina that you mention.  As stawka noted, there is a lot of things we know very little about which may take millenia to research and understand.

There have been too many reports from credible people of these sorts of things for them to all be dissmised as just a few loons who smoke too much whoopy weed. I suspect structured religeon is an attempt by pre modern man to explain some of these phenomina which they experienced in much the same way as we experience these things today. The fact that religeons following similar basic ideas have sprung up all around the world from isolated communities ( including our Aborigines ) indicates something is going on. All I know is theres lots of stuff that I dont know and will never understand.

Why do Australians believe silly things?

Rest in What...? Sorry, didn't quite catch that...

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-02/ghost-hunters-hold-facebook-seance-at-willow-court-tasmania/90...

Apparently Sunday (October 8th) is National Ghost Hunting Day.

Everyone can join in the fun!

Whoopee!

Next week we can go roaming around randomly chosen suburbs, knocking on doors and asking people inane questions.

After all, why should the dearly departed have all the fun?

Let's make sport out of disturbing and annoying complete strangers.

Party! Party! Party!

(Insert the little picture that Stawka likes to use, with the sarcasm sign).

Come on, guys, give it a break.

If the Spirits wanted to talk to you, they would.

But it seems they don't, and aren't...

Why could that be?

🙂

LOL... i just love sarcasm from a non-believer. Man LOL

That's ok..... you're entitled to be a non- believer.

But never under-estimate the abilities of someone in spirit.

They are there, whether you believe in them  or not.

I think it woud be foolish to assume there is no life anywhere else in the Universe, but I think it would be equally foolish to assume such life is even remotely humanoid.
