I know no one here are really ridgey didgey Muslims. But I'm just curious how women rationalize choosing Islam as a guide to life??? If you were in their shoes, how would you justify it?
WHat does Islam provide these women that other religion can't??? Islam is the fastest growing religion even in Western countries. THere must be something attractive about it for women.
I'm not talking about women who are indoctrinated as kids and brainwashed but women who have the option of choice later in life.
I just want to hear logical and rational reasons why YOU THINK these women choose to become the whole hog of burkas/hijabs wearing muslims??

What harm does my belief in the miracle of the Eucharist do to you or anybody else?
Yet, you ridicule.
What harm does my belief in Jesus being the Son of God do to you or anybody else?
etc etc etc.....................
I don't particularly see a problem with tradition. I can even understand the spiritual part and also when people want to take a more symbolic quip to the Eucharist. But you're screwing with people's head when you're forced to believe that the biscuit and the wine LITERALLY turn into the body and blood of a 1st century Jew. This is even more harmful for a child. THis can be scientifically tested whether it's true or not. Do you know how many people were killed in Ireland when an exercise was done to torture biscuits?
Belief in Jesus being the son of God entails other beliefs . Do you agree with that.
When have you seen me ridicule Janism or people who believe in fairies or the Easter bunny.
OK, I did blame the Easter bunny for something the other week, So I take that back:^O

Some people need order in their lives, what better *safer* way than a strict religion? Whether it being a muslim or a nun, there are strict rules.

Well Bob, it all really comes down to believing in God, doesn't it? You either believe in miracles or you don't.
Regarding Jainism. Mahavira is believed to posess divine powers. So explain to me why would you be critical of one religion and not another when it comes to the "supernatural" ?
I am not forced to believe anything. I have told you this.

Catholic Nuns & Priests that are required to be celibate and not marry - what other religion has those restrictions placed on its clergy?
Comparing Muslim women (who are not leaders or whatever they are called within their religion) with Nuns (who dedicate their life to religious service) is like comparing apples with pumpkins.

Bob never posted ''nunnery".
I did. Having been taught by the nuns of no mercy for 12 years, I'll call em what I like

Are you going to watch the video or not? I am waiting to see what you think.

Another question that could be asked is - do these people (men or women) who convert to Islam have an other religion that they followed or were brought up in before they converted to Islam? Or have the got to be adults and followed no religion at all before.?

Fair enough.
We (non-Catholics) used to call the place the Nuns lived in (next to the school) the Nunnery when I was a child.
nun·ner·y
A building in which nuns live as a community; a convent.

I'm open to the idea of miracles, infact it'll be great to witness one. Miracles doesn't conclude that the bible God or if any God did it. It's not a case of whether you believe in miracles or you don't. Are there any evidence for miracles?. If the evidence is so overwhelming that it's crazy not to believe, why wouldn't you?
Where have I said I am against the supernatural? I don't even know what supernatural means.
If you're not forced to believe in the transubstitiation, why would you? Do you seriously believe that the biscuit turns into the body of CHrist, if you say some latin words over it? Why would you teach a child that?

And what are you talking about (historically) now?
