Why do women live longer than men?

when I married my OH he was 5 years younger than me. I thought that was a good idea seeing men don't live as long as women....now what do I have? A OH who has dementia and it is very likely I will out live him.

Women live longer because Goddess decided they needed a few years of peace and quiet after looking after the old basket for years. :). *tongue firmly planted in cheek*

It's pretty well known in retirement communities that a lot of women get a new lease on life when they lose their husbands. Some husbands still believe that their wives are there to look after them and shouldn't have any outside interests.
