when I married my OH he was 5 years younger than me. I thought that was a good idea seeing men don't live as long as women....now what do I have? A OH who has dementia and it is very likely I will out live him.

Isn't it lovely when you unexpectantly come across those with similar life experiences and values.

I don't think age factors into it at all really. You can lose a loved one at any age, be it illness or an accident. My dad was a young 47, left home for work, never to return 😞 Mum was 62 when she died.
Young friend 34 last year died and left a husband and 2 young children. Another friend died in his mid 30's leaving his wife who was 5 years older than him.
Then I have friends in their late 80's, married and going strong.
Be happy for what you have had, not for what you may miss 🙂

I think it is just the way mother nature decided that in the old days of tribal living there is no use for grumpy old men, they were just waste of resources. Old women on the other hand were useful; cooking, taking care of children & sick, making clothing etc. 🙂

I think that is wonderful that he is so much younger, good on you. Funny though how some people snicker if the woman 22 years older but no such snickers if the woman is 22 years younger, he is called a "stud" or silly old fool LOL
