Why do women live longer than men?

when I married my OH he was 5 years younger than me. I thought that was a good idea seeing men don't live as long as women....now what do I have? A OH who has dementia and it is very likely I will out live him.

You are right, Karen.  Male sperm are weaker than female sperm, more die off while they are waiting to go somewhere.  That is why is is relatively easy to choose the gender of your baby.  More male foetuses die, more male babies die, more male children and adults die.  Not only because they are risk takers, but because they are genetically weaker then females.
