time for both leaders to re-read the Lombrok Treaty imo.Indonesia's leader seems to be drumming this up perhaps as suggested in the Jakarta news at exactly the right time ..and it has stirred up national pride in Indonesia by some extremists as unfortunately can happen where National pride is concerned .The article suggests that even that won't be enough to help him win the up and coming election.Going by that treaty violence and threats should not be encouraged or supported
It is the people who suffer the most if these relationships break down.

"Tony Abbott hailed Japan as Australia's “closest friend in Asia”
"Japan is Australia's best friend in Asia. That doesn't mean we don't have other good friends."
"Obviously China is a good friend of Australia, and I hope in years to come it will become an even better friend."
"India has been a good friend"

The US alliance is “the bedrock of Australian security”. Japan is “Australia’s best friend in Asia”. China is “a good friend of Australia and I hope in the years to come China becomes an even better friend of Australia”. India also is “a good friend of Australia and I hope in the years to come we’ll have a more developed relationship.”
