.......that most interesting threads are started by new posters with shiny gold logies with 0 feedback?
Is it that regular posters have run out of interesting topics?
Perhaps regular posters are reluctant to start controversial topics in case the factions that do the reporting descend and send them to oblivion.
I find sad that discussion and debate have suffered at the hands, or should I say fingers, of the various groups who consider that it is their opinion and their opinion only that should be heard.

It wasn't always that way poddster. People always talk about how wonderful Chin Wag was but Community Spirit also started off more, shall we say... energetic. Chin Wag was populated by mostly middle-aged people who enjoyed patting themselves on the back at how internet savvy they'd become. When Chin Wag started, the old people then didn't know how to use computers let alone internet chat sites. Now the original Chin Waggers have aged - some have weight and health problems and they have slowed down - it makes sense their posts have also started to lack energy. The problem is, the middle aged people who've aged have not been replaced by likewise or younger folk so Community Spirit has begun to seem a little like an empty nursing home.
Having said that, have you checked out other forum sights? CS isn't the best, but it most definitely isn't the worst.

Hmmmm..... I'll have to get the hang of contemplating and endlessly discussing the intricacies of topics like "my vacuum cleaner smells of dust"
Those types of topics tend to linger for eons
