I wouldn't have it any other way... was married once years ago and had two children.

Now I do what I like when I like and can spend money without explaining it.  My women friends are all the same.

Men, as they get older, tend to look for someone to care for them into their old age, and most women are a wake up to that.

No way, not this little black duck!

Now thats sad if you really believe that.

It's nice to have someone to care for.

We all need someone to care for us as we grow older, and hopefully it's someone close and who loves you, like your kids, or a partner. Otherwise it has to be strangers, and we've all heard and seen some of horror stories of retirement villages and thier carers.

Having someone to care for you when you are older shouldn't be a main reason for wanting/needing a partner (or for having children for that matter).

Not all elderly people end up in retirement homes. The majority of residents in retirement homes are not mistreated.

I have the best of both worlds.......a long time partner to whom I am devoted, and he to me.

There for one another if needed, mutual respect and values

But I retain my freedom as a single person....separate finances,, individual interests for each of us to pursue, and personal space...

This is one happy and contented woman.

I didn't say it should be a main reason, I said it was nice to have.

As usual, you are interpreting my posts to your own needs so you can challenge me.

I'm not in the mood.

Have a nice day anyway.

About the elderly care thing, you could have a partner for 50 years or so, one dies and the other is left alone without anyone to care for them in their advanced years.

icy., those are my comments relating to your posts. They are not meant to challenge..simply comments in reply to your post.

I have always thought the  wanting someone to care for me in old age (partner or child) is a lame reason for having a partner or children.
