The question is
Will Julia Gillard Lead the Labor Party to the Election
If she leads it will be a total wipe out, if she is replaced at least they may save a few seats but they (the labor party) are headed for political oblivion and a wipe out no matter what they do.

Agree re LL's thoughts on Bolt.Rather scary that people think it's acceptable .

the 'sweetest victory of all' was nothing like a one-sided media assasination. there was some journalism still surviving in the daily broadsheets then.. unlike the sheep we have now. now they either work for the likes of murdoch or aspire to (better pay and job security).
there's no common ground for comparison.
LL, you really jump in "boots and all" and no holding back. I can almost see your gritted teeth, your red face and your shaking body you get so mad and defensive.
JG does not need defending, she is oblivious to criticism and the sad part is she really tries to make us believe she is doing a great job even when she knows deep in her soul she has not got a hope in hell.
Cardinal George Pell has more chance of being the next pope than JG has of winning the next election, LL you really do know this, don't you ? but I do respect your loyalty.

no , i'm quite relaxed. posting styles give the wrong impression i guess. its not so much a matter of liking gillard.. more a matter of not wanting the libs who are worse, and definitely less competent. she's got a ton of legislation through the parliament with a minority govt. love her or hate her she's extremely tough and very competent. look at the libs in victoria and now the NT.. both governments have fallen apart rather quickly. 🙂

But you forgot to mention the WA election recently and the landslide over there. I respect your comments but I am sure we are on opposite sides of the fence. That being said I think we are all going to suffer the next 7 months of back stabbing, lies, crap and garbage they all come out with. I think I might go on an extended overseas trip until it is all over.

the WA election went as i expected it to. six or so months gives plenty of scope for a federal turnaround. its by no means over. i do know what you mean about the length of the campaign though.. 🙂

can I come with you Newstart?

Yes it was expected and is a reflection on what will happen in September, I don't agree libs are worse, the country was in surplus under the coalition and we are now staring down the biggest deficit ever just like when the labor party ran NSW for so long. how quiet is Mr Swan at present and not buffooning himself with his feathers fluffed. It is interesting times and I will quietly enjoy watching JG,s speech when she has to admit defeat.

they may have run a surplus, but everything else suffered as a result ...hospitals schools roads you name it. internationally Howard has been noted as the most prolifigate (wasteful) PM we've had. australians dont get told these things (news ltd).

i thought he was a strong decisive prime minister, he did not look in control but he was and ran a tight ship. Love him or hate him he did a great job whilst in government.
