is there a good photo program for this OS that i can edit pictures on?
(picasa is not compatible)
or is there already one that comes with the OS? and would i need to sign-up to the built-in microsoft account to access it?
(& i know theres an email account available but im still using web-mail)

we buy old computers with XP on them as we don't feel like hassling around with a bleep operating system.

there are some die hard XP users out there evu, (sis is one of them)
used to have vista & W8 is a huge improvement

Joz, Vista was a creation of the Devil. It sent many a computer techo to the loony bin and from there to an early grave.
There are a couple of operating systems that fall into that category, Millenium and now windows 8.
