is there a good photo program for this OS that i can edit pictures on?
(picasa is not compatible)
or is there already one that comes with the OS? and would i need to sign-up to the built-in microsoft account to access it?
(& i know theres an email account available but im still using web-mail)

I've used PhotoScape for a number of years and it's a freebie.
It's basic but a lot of good features. I usually use it to fix my ebay listing photos.

hahaha. That's good. My posts were disappearing rapidly. It happens a lot when what I say does not agree with another. 😄

The annoying thing about win8 is the stupid way it expects you to be logged in for everything and anything but you get used to that in the end.
I don't know about it's camera interface. I've been using phone camera for ages and I've set that to auto upload to dropbox and have my comp devices set to auto download from dropbox. So all my photos end up in the clouds via dropbox and on the computers as well, instantly.
Sorry, can't help with that question. The win8 apps functions are quite strange to get used to 😄
Most of my programs still operate through the desktop view 😄

Hey joz - Malwarebytes works on W8 now.
