Re: Wolf Creek?

Thanks Debra, seems from what I'm reading about it today, that the Wolf Creek movie could be about any serial killer and the various ways they function, but I guess it is easy to relate what some people think about factual events into fictional movies as grim reminders about what can and does happen in reality.

tasfleur - the association between

wolf creek and ivan milat is due

to the fact the movie is about a

backpacker killer. the characters

were foreign tourists. (many other

similarities)

Re: Wolf Creek?

I almost watched The Blair Witch as I walked in about a third of the way through and didn't quite catch on to the storyline until it began to get very 'dark', then I abandoned it.

One of my students wrote a paper and I was astonished that he thought it was a 'real' event/documentary, that's how well it was done.   I gave the student an A for the way he wrote and presented the paper, but had to call him back to talk about fiction, influence and convincing mind games the movies could play as 'reality', and to be aware of how dangerous it could be.

Thankfully, he got the message and became much more aware, he had just turned 16 years old.

Julia,  there may be unique 'similarities', but there always are in no matter which country, which serial killer, which methodology.   I see no difference between the Milats of this world or any other serial killer/mass murderer, the backpacker part is a facsimile/artifact of the same type of crime (in my opinion).

I'm not interested in Wolf Creek or any other fictional whereabouts of those murders, but rather the reality of what has really happened.   That's why I don't watch 'loosely based' influenced movies, but stay with the facts in the real world.
