I worked for some time for the then D of A, and engaged in commercial aircraft operations for a few years, so if that is the  Phil Astley you refer to,  I might have bumped (flown) into him.

ROFL. Though I suppose I shouldn't - it's sad really. It reminds me of the New Guinea Cargo Cult, when unsophisticated tribal people believed the planes they saw flying overhead were great birds bringing gifts from the gods; and built airstrips tin an attempt  to lure them to their villages.
