YOUR PREDICTIONS ON THE ALP LEADERSHIP

Well, looks like it's going to happen in the next 24 hours or so.

I think Rudd will get in.  I think it will be all over by tomorrow at the latest.

What do you reckon?

I hope that he doesn't .He has had his time .

actually Iza, he hasn't..that's the whole issue....they should have let him serve out his full term because the PEOPLE elected him....I hate to say it but for the first female PM to take office that way, it lessened the integrity of that milestone......I think many ALP voters are disillusioned over the disloyalty of a party that once stood for equal rights and a fair go....Even so, my disappointment still won't incite me to vote for STONY BLABBOTT.....while hope remains.

Katy - Ditto.....It's been a race to the bottom of the barrel for decades, with no statesmen/women able to get a look in or they'll get knocked off by partisan pot shots....I'm over it.

John Howard had a few "times".

I'm disappointed.  I remember posting here when Gillard took over the job, and I was kind of happy.  How great to have a female PM.  But, it was only days later that I became disillusioned with her and nothing has changed my mind since then.  I thought/think that she was a superb Deputy PM and minister, but I don't think she had a consistent approach to the top job and I think she made some very bad decisions.

absolutely Katy...I felt exactly the same way....and then she knifed Trish Crossin (who earned her mile stones as the FIRST NT female ever elected to the Senate)..... demonstrating only too recently that she's prepared to knife anyone for token politics.....sheesh...it's gotten so grubby, it makes ya feel like taking a shower....It's No How Ya Make Porridge.

Iza, the party is NOT bigger than the people and they had no right to over ride the outcome of a DEMOCRATIC election...not having a go.....I'm enjoying the discussion for a change without the spammers turning it into the bog of eternal stench.

I think both parties have discarded leaders when the polls show that the next election is unwinnable for them.  And, really, I don't have a problem with that.  It should be important.  Hanging on to a leader for the sake of hanging onto a leader is NOT as important as the policies and their implementation for the good of the people of Australia.

Gillard is sounding rather rattled at QT.

yes, I'm watching it too, and she just keeps talking in scripted terms....arrrrrrrghghgh....

I agree Katy, and if I'm honest, I'd feel much more secure if the LNP would put Malcolm in the chair.....nothing worries me more than the LNP getting into Govt, with Tony at the helm...god help us all.......and if that's on the cards, then we MUST use our votes to skew their power in the senate. Otherwise, they are accountable to no-one and that's scary.....
