so being bored makes yawning catching? or is it being tired and bored? or is it just a physical response to stupidity - or all mentioned. Hunting is quite a political issue by the way MrGrizz.

actually yawning has nothing to do with being tired or bored
it is the body needing oxygen. and the reason yawning is contagious is because when you see other people yawn your brain gets tricked into thinking there is a shortage of oxygen, so try's to get more aswell.

oh, i will have to remember that for the next time i get called out for yawning - "i need oxygen" sounds better than "sorry".

We learnt at school that the reason yawning is catching is that when the herd leader gets up in readiness to move after a rest, he or she yawns to take in extra oxygen which then stimulates the others to yawn - thereby replenishing oxygen to help everyone wake up and be ready to move again. Or something like that......
