Gun laws contribute to the culture of carelessness with guns.  If the laws were adequate there would not be the steady stream of accidental deaths reported, too many of which involve young children.

blaming gun laws or lack thereof is just another way of passing the buck so stupid people don't have to take responsibility for their own actions.

There will always be stupid people, not much can be done about them but there are also thoughtless people.......... those who have never considered that a loaded gun doesn't belong under a chair.

We knew not to touch guns when we were children.

We allowed our son to have a gun when he was 12, he used to go rabbit shooting with a friend.....would we allow that today?

Not everyone is careless or cavalier about guns.

My father had one before I was born...I never even knew of it's existence until I was 58 years old and found the beautifully crafted lockable case under Dad's bed.

When asked what it was for and who made it Dad said he made it and it was for the gun that he handed in years before when the laws changed here in Australia.
